Up to $50 per person, and $2,000 total – IE if 40 people make a loan to Zidisha of $25 I will make 40 loans to Kiva of $50 each. 2013-10-31 I was a bit troubled by the criticism of Kiva, and wanted to check out what alternatives were out there. I came to the conclusion that my major gripes with Kiva stem from its dependency on MFIs (microfinancing institutions) as local middlemen. Ki 2012-04-24 2015-09-21 I initially was a huge fan of Zidisha because of all the bullshit the microlending providers pull. Which is exactly like this.
For example, Kiva, the world's largest microlending website, reports any loans not yet written off as repaid, even if they are still outstanding with the borrower. Kiva recently launched Kiva Zip, which eliminates the middleman by sending loans directly to mobile phones — just like Zidisha does. Zidisha has never used intermediaries.

I’ll have to look at Kiva Zip as it appears they might be trying to emulate the good practices of Zidisha here and that makes it a win for everyone. And with a personal loss rate at about 17% I would actually prefer a higher interest rate. Let's keep in mind that the rates offered through Zidisha is way lower than what banks and other micro-lenders offer.

For instance the interest through Kiva is typically 30 to 75%. Also take into consideration inflation. Almost a decade later, Kiva is still raising the bar simply because they’re making chocolates, gummies, and mints that taste superb with highs that feel just as good. And because the potency of their edibles typically ranges from 2.5 to 5mg of THC per piece, getting the microdose or precise dose you need is a breeze. Zidisha — сайдан тэрилтэтин тэрийэр.

Finally, Mr. Shah's comparison of repayment performance at Kiva and Zidisha left out a relevant fact: at Zidisha, lenders can offset credit risk with interest earnings. In January 2013 I wrote about Zidisha, a micro-lending site that connected altruistic lenders with those in need of loans in poorer Countries, seemingly with many in Africa. In that post I compared Zidisha’s model with that of Kiva. The major reason that I was starting to dislike Kiva is that they often charge interest […]

2012-08-27 · Here are the main differences between Kiva and Zidisha: Interaction Between Lenders and Borrowers. Kiva does not normally allow for direct interaction between lenders and borrowers. As stated in the article, Kiva has recently launched a pilot program called Kiva Zip (http://zip.kiva.org/), following in Zidisha's footsteps. It's currently in beta, so the risks will be high to begin with, but Kiva does have a wider reach than Zidisha. It will be interesting to see how they do things, and how far the Zidisha model can be scaled. I will match double your loan to Zidisha and loan it to Kiva. Up to $50 per person, and $2,000 total – IE if 40 people make a loan to Zidisha of $25 I will make 40 loans to Kiva of $50 each.
